Genesee County Fair Officially Canceled Due to Coronavirus
The 2020 Genesee County has officially been canceled because of coronavirus concerns.
The Genesee County Health Department issued an emergency order today which officially puts the kibosh on the fair.
Numerous questions surrounding the fate of this year's fair have been swirling, as fair organizers and county health officials have debated whether or not holding the event would pose a risk to Genesee County residents.
According to ABC-12, the order notes that gatherings in Genesee county are limited to 100 people during phase 4 of the coronavirus pandemic. The fairly easily draws thousands of people to the fairgrounds located in Mt. Morris Township.
Officials in Lapeer County announced earlier that the annual Lapeer Days Festival and this year's Eastern Michigan Fair would also be canceled.
