Yesterday, gas prices in the Flint area were right around $3 a gallon. Many stations were selling for less than that. Just 4 days before Christmas, right on time for holiday travelers, the price magically jumped to $3.39 at just about every station.

According to www.money.cnn.com/data/commodities/ the price of a 55 gallon barrel of crude oil was up to $98.67, about five dollars more than a week ago. Unleaded Gas, which is also traded on the open market closed at $2.62 a gallon, up around 10 cents from a week ago. A slight increase may be justified. Forty cents a gallon only makes sense if your name is Mr. Grinch.
