Red paint, blue paint, green paint... collect paint!  That is what the FOX66 Green Team, Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce, Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission, community members and other various organizations will be doing Saturday, June 4th.

Interior and exterior latex paint will be collected as part of the RePaint Genesee project where free recycled paint will be distributed to the community in an effort to recycle and assist those who could use paint to improve their homes and communities.

Genesee County residents are encouraged to drop off their used or new latex paint June 4th from 10am to 3pm at Flint Distributing Company, located at 2402 N. Dort Highway, Flint. McDonald's will provide a medium size value meal to each resident who drops off paint while supplies last! Residents can also drop off paint June 6th-9th from 7:30am- 4pm at CBC Recycling located at 1801 South Saginaw Street, Flint.

Once mixed, the paint will be handed out to anyone who can use it! The RePaint Genesee Distribution Event will take place on Saturday, June 18th from 9am-3pm at Flint Distributing. All are welcome to pick up free paint!

“This huge recycling project began last year when the paint was used to beautify one neighborhood. This year we are expanding the beautification to the entire Genesee County community", said Jamie Waisanen Fox66 Green Team coordinator. "The main goal is to use the paint before it goes bad being stored in people’s garages, or basements. New homeowners, college students and anyone really who has a painting project is encouraged to participate."
