Can you imagine scratching off an instant ticket and realizing you just won $2 million? It happened to a 65-year-old Flint man.

The player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at the Sunoco gas station, located at 1330 East Atherton Road in Flint.

"The $2,000,000 jackpot game was one of my favorites when it first came out, but I hadn't played it in a while," he told the Michigan Lottery. "I decided to try my luck on it again, and it really paid off!"

At first, he couldn't believe his eyes.

"I scratched the ticket and didn't think I was reading it right. I had to ask my buddy who was with me to verify it for me! I'm still numb from winning honestly."

A new truck is in his future. The big winner has opted to take a one-time lump-sum payment of about $1.3 million, rather than annuity payments for the full amount. He tells the lottery he plans to splurge on a new truck, share some money with his family, and invest the remainder of his winnings.

According to the Michigan lottery, players have won more than $70 million playing $2,000,000 Jackpot, which launched in August 2018. Each $20 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $20 up to $2 million. More than $28 million in prizes remain, including one $2 million top prize, five $10,000 prizes, and 166 $2,000 prizes.
