Classes are going on now, with a recital planned for October.

Flint native Porscha Clemons opened up the Heart of Worship Dance Studio two years ago. She holds classes at West Court Street Church of God twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, open to kids ages 5-19. And they're FREE.

Porscha grew up dancing in her church as well. She has a learning disability and had some behavioral problems as a child, and dance gave her "self-control and discipline."

She danced on teams at her junior high and high schools and even founded the dance team at Mott. She went on to compete with Detroit Mechanix and the Detroit Pride dance teams.

She's now offering classes for free through the Flint ReCAST grant, but says that she would love to get more sponsors. She could also use donations of dance clothing, ballet slippers, etc.

If you'd like to get more information, you can email her at PorschaClemons@gmail.com.
