Police in Fenton are warning residents of a scam in which someone is going door-to-door in the Fenton area posing as an Animal Control officer inquiring about dog licences. This person is not associated with local Animal Control.

There will be a census of dogs beginning in May, and there will be officers with proper identification and in proper uniforms going door to door. The Genesee County Board of Commissioners issued a release explaining the situation. They're asking residents that if someone comes to your door claiming to be Animal Control that you call police and Animal Control at 810-732-1660 to report it.
