Fenton Girl Educates Classmates On Rare Medical Condition [VIDEO]

October is well known as Breast Cancer Awareness month. But one organization uses this month to raise awareness about a less talked about medical condition.

Little People of America, has designated October as Dwarfism Awareness month. 13 year old Chapin Kartsounes a student at Fenton middle school, was born with SED, a form of dwarfism. . Simply put, Chapin is shorter than her peers.

The organization, Little People of America, has designated October as Dwarfism Awareness month. To help spread the message, Chapin tried to color-coordinate her classmates on Monday via Facebook. Instead, dozens of Chapin's classmates at Fenton High School dressed in green and plenty of teachers and other staff did the same. The show of support brought the principal to tears.

Chapin hopes it sent a message of unity.
