Michael Elliot, the convicted murderer who escaped from a Michigan prison facility Sunday evening, has been captured in Kankakee, Indiana.

WOOD-TV reports that police in the rural LaPorte county community were investigating a stolen vehicle, when an officer saw a car that matched its description. When he attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading authorities on a chase that lasted roughly five minutes. Police used stop sticks to disable the vehicle, and apprehended the driver, Michael Elliot.

Elliot had been serving four life sentences in the Ionia Correctional Facility after being convicted of four murders dating back to 1993.
