Elon Musk Donates $420K for Laptops for Flint Middle Schoolers

Between this and the balanced calendar, it was a big night for Flint schools.

Last night at the Flint Community School board meeting, it was announced that the Elon Musk Foundation has donated $423,600 to purchase Chromebooks for middle school students who are moving into the former Flint Northern High School.

6th, 7th and 8th graders will receive the laptops and be allowed to take them home as well.

According to their website, the Elon Musk Foundation is committed to:

- Renewable energy research and advocacy

- Human space exploration research and advocacy

- Pediatric research

-Science and engineering education

This is in addition to the $480K that was donated in October to provide water filtration for all Flint schools.
