Ed Sheeran Was Denied Entry to His Label’s Grammys After-Party
Ed Sheeran was denied access to his record label's Grammys after-party, which is almost painful in how relatable it is.
The "Shape of You" singer admitted during an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest that he failed to gain entry to his label’s post-Grammys party, held at Milk Studios — though the reason for denial is less salacious than it sounds. The venue was reportedly at max capacity before Sheeran arrived -- and it's not the first time he's suffered exclusion.
"That's actually happened four years in a row, and that's not just my label's after-party," he said. "That's just after-parties in general."
But by Sheeran’s own follow-up admission, it’s probably best he didn’t get into the party anyway, because the attendees weren’t exactly his preferred crowd of people.
"You know what I don't get?" he continued. "You walk into those parties..and no one there....there's probably like four musicians there and everyone else is just people from L.A. who didn't go to the Grammys that probably just want a party to go to."
Sheeran then headed over to Diplo and Benny Blanco’s party, instead, which went well — at first.
"I arrived there super-early and I was like, 'This is really cool! No one's here!' And then suddenly 2,000 people turned up and I was like, 'I'm going,'" he said.
