It started out badly.  It ended much worse.  Tiger starter Phil Coke walked 4 Mariner hitters in the first inning and gave up a hit to put his team in a 4-0 hole.  They would never recover.

The weak-hitting Mariners pounded Tiger pitching for 13 runs before it was over.  Final score; Seattle 13, Detroit 3.

The Tigers and Mariners wrap up their 3 game series in Seattle this afternoon with a 3:40 game time.  Rick Porcello gets the start on the mound for Jim Leyland's club.  Then it's back home to Comerica Park for three games with their Central Division rival, the  Chicago White Sox starting on Friday.  A win today would mean a winning road trip for the Tigers.  That's something they need to do this season if they hope to be playing baseball when it gets cold again in October.  Maybe that's the problem....our guys don't like cold weather?

The Tigers placed catcher/DH Victor Martinez on the 15-day disabled list due to a groin injury.
