Detroit Pistons ‘Straight Up B****es’ Being Commemorated on T-Shirts [NSFW]
Nearly 30 years after taking a beating from the Chicago Bulls on the hardwood, our Detroit Pistons are currently taking another beating being dubbed 'Straight Up B****es.'
And yes, it's being commemorated on a t-shirt which "borrows" the Pistons logo. As much as I'd love to embed a picture here, people with more common sense (and making significantly more money than I do) have ruled against that. But you can see it for yourself at this link. And here's a different version. And yet another one.
The moniker is courtesy of Horace Grant, who uttered the phrase during ESPN's 10-part docuseries 'The Last Dance' which chronicles Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
After being beaten by the Pistons in the 1988, 1989, and 1990 Conference Finals, the Bulls came back to sweep the Pistons in four games in 1991. The Pistons are remembered for famously walking off the court with time left on the clock. It's a moment Grant still views as a sign of disrespect, calling the 1991 Detroit Pistons, "Straight up b****es" during an interview which aired during episode four.
It's a phrase that simply had to be commemorated on a t-shirt.
