Detroit Lions Coach Dan Campbell Reveals His Insane Daily Caffeine Filled Starbucks Order
Detroit Lions new head coach Dan Campbell is a pretty intense guy, and now we know that some of that intensity might be caffeine fueled.
Campbell was talking to reporters at a training camp press conference when he was asked about his morning routine. Campbell chuckled and started to explain his morning Starbucks order that would most likely kill most of us. You can hear Coach Campbell explain his order below, then I'll try to put it into a bit of perspective for you.
I think my heart rate increased just thinking about that.
Two Venti Pike drinks with two shots of espresso in each of them. EVERY. DAY.
So how much caffeine is that?
40 ounces of coffee and four espresso shots equals out to roughly 1,100mg of caffeine. That's a lot of caffeine for one day. In fact, the Mayo Clinic says that 400mg is a safe amount of caffeine per day for most health adults. That means Campbell is taking in almost triple the amount of caffeine per day that is deemed "safe".
In case you're wondering, that's the equivalent of drinking 10 cans of Redbull.
Obviously Campbell is in decent health considering he was a professional athlete, but I wouldn't recommend trying to copy his morning routine. A little caffeine definitely has some health benefits, but just like the saying goes, "all things in moderation."

Trust me though when I say, don't try to drink 1,110mg of caffeine in one day . . . it will end badly.
