
Water Main Break in Michigan Leaves Vehicles Encased in Ice
Imagine leaving your car parked on the street and returning to find it caked in a block of ice. It happened to two drivers in Dearborn Heights.
It's not funny. OK, it's actually pretty funny. Unless, of course, you're the owner of one of these vehicles.

This isn't a brand-new development; I missed this story when it happened near the end of January and I only caught wind of it today when I saw a reel that's been going around on Facebook.

As you think back to the end of January, you'll recall that the weather was insanely cold. That frigid cold weather - combined with a water main break - that occurred in Dearborn Heights spelled disaster for these drivers.
Timing is Everything
Cheryl Fritz tells Fox 2 that she went on vacation with two of her grandchildren. The kids parked their vehicles outside her house and then headed off to have some fun in Nashville, Tennessee.
The water main break spilled hundreds of gallons of water into the street. Then, as vehicles drove by, they splashed all that water onto these parked cars.
Freeing These Vehicles Caked in Ice
Paul Vanderplow works in the Dearborn Heights Mayor's office. He tells the TV station that members of the Department of Public Works spent a couple of days working to free the vehicles so they could be towed to a warming center.
