Clio Man Wins Big in Michigan Lottery’s Lucky for Life Game
A Genesee County man yelled, "Hey, that's me!" at the TV when he heard that someone from Clio had won a big prize from the Michigan Lottery.
Carl Cooper was excited to learn that he'd won a $25,000 a year for life prize and shared his story with the Michigan Lottery.
Winning Lottery Ticket Sold at Clio Party Store
Cooper tells the Lottery that he bought his Lucky for Life ticket at Ernie's Beer & Win on Saginaw Road in Clio. He uses the same set of numbers every time he plays.
Carl's numbers matched on September 23, and he couldn't believe what he saw when he checked his numbers the next morning.

"When I looked at the prize table and saw it was a prize of $25,000 a year for life, I started pacing the house and couldn't stop," he says.
They're Talking About Me on the News
Cooper goes on to say that he tried to calm himself down by turning on the TV news, and immediately heard local newscasters talking about him.
"As soon as it came on, they were talking about the big Lucky for Life winning ticket that was sold in Clio and I yelled, 'Hey, that's me!' Winning a prize like this is a surreal experience."
He went on to say that he plans to use some of the money to buy a new snow blower and then save the rest.
Cooper chose a lump sum payment of $390,000 rather than the Lottery's other option of $25,000 annuity payments for 20 years or life, whichever is greater.
