What Michigan State Police Investigators Know About The Deadly Lapeer County Crash
An 18-year-old man from Columbiaville was killed after a crash early Saturday morning in Lapeer County. According to Michigan State Police, troopers were called out around 6 a.m. to the intersection of Bowers and Farnsworth roads in Mayfield Township.

Investigators say the teen was driving a 2003 Acura when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway and slammed into a tree, trapping him inside.
Emergency Response in Mayfield Township Following Crash
Emergency crews responded, and the driver was taken to a local hospital, but he later died from his injuries according to MLive.

Police have not yet released his name, and investigators are still working to determine exactly what caused the crash. At this point, authorities have only said that the vehicle left the road before striking the tree. Those are the only details that they have released.

It's a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly things can change on the road, especially during the early morning hours when visibility, fatigue, and road conditions can all become factors. But none of those factors have been confirmed or denied by officials.
