Carly Rae Wins At AMA and Then Gets Death Threats

Carly Rae Jepsen was a winner at the American Music Awards as the "Best New Artist', but apparently some fans of the group One Direction are upset with the winning choice. So much so that Carly received death threats after the win.

According to an article in Zimbio, a number of young teens were tweeting threats after her win was announced. The article quotes a few of the tweets:  "carly rae jepsen more like carly rae kill yourself," and this one, "CARLY RAE JEPSEN I'LL KILL YOU MAYBE," and finally, "IM SCREAMING SO LOUD WHO VOTED FOR CARLY RAE JEPSEN I WILL KILL YR FIRSTBORN."

It's kind of scary talk, but pop stars are used to strong reactions from the fan base, especialy with today's social media.
