Burton Police Close To Arrest In Motorcyclist Hit-And-Run

The police served a search warrant yesterday to gain access to a 57-year-old Otisville man's cell phone.

Police are trying to determine if the man was drunk and driving the white Jeep that hit two motorcyclists at the intersection of Bristol and Belsay in Burton on June 30th. The Jeep fled the scene; RJ Ryan and his wife Courtney were taken to the hospital, where RJ lost part of his leg. Their family says that they are now home and RJ is learning how to walk again.

The man allegedly drove to Lapeer, where he hit some parked cars and again fled the scene and drove to Oakland County. Police are hoping to tie the two together and make an arrest this week.
