Beyonce’s Father, Matthew Knowles, Has Breast Cancer

Another important reminder for breast cancer awareness month that yes, men CAN get breast cancer.

Matthew Knowles, father of musical superstars Beyonce and Solange, has revealed that he's currently fighting breast cancer.

The 67-year-old called his doctor after he started to notice spots of blood on his shirts and bed sheets. He had a mammogram and was diagnosed.

Knowles also found out that he's a carrier of the BRCA2 gene mutation, which puts him at high risk for developing cancer. He said that his children all went and got tested as well.

He's decided to speak out, not just because he's a man, but because black men have a higher rate of breast cancer than their caucasian counterparts.
