American Setback: Kentucky Church Bans Interracial Couples [VIDEO]

What year is this? A small church in Eastern Kentucky is drawing plenty of criticism for its decision to ban interracial couples from joining, and participating in church activities.

Members of the Gulnare Free Will Baptist Church in Tomahawk Ky. voted nine to six, after many refused to participate and walked out before the ballots were cast. The church's former pastor, Melvin Thompson said in a radio interview:

“I do not believe in interracial marriages, and I do not believe this [ban] will give our church a black eye at all.”
