Adopt An Angel Tree Child This Christmas

When you ask kids what they want for Christmas, the answer is usually along the lines of Barbies, Legos, and XBOXs.  Unfortunately, there are kids in Genesee County who simply want socks for Christmas.  Perhaps gloves or a coat.  It's incredibly heartbreaking to hear, but it is undeniably true.  But the good news is that there are two opportunities for you to help!

You can sponsor a family by contacting Denelle Henry at 810-423-3596, or Mindy Prusa at 810-875-1471.  One of my co-workers is sponsoring two children, 7 and 14, who's wishlist includes clothes, gloves, boots and gloves.  Earrings and a Toys 'R' Us gift card were on their wishlists, but at the bottom.  That's the sad truth for these kids.

The Genesee County DHS Angel Tree is looking for people to help brighten this holiday season for children in our area. Stop by the Angel Tree event at Blackstone's in Downtown Flint on Thursday, December 12th from 5 to 9pm.  There will be 50/50 raffle drawings and prize raffles.  Please bring a $10 cash or gift card donation or bring a new unwrapped toy.  All the proceeds will benefit a child involved in protective services or foster care in Genesee County.
