This Milwaukee mom is a true hero.

Jessica Benzakein has been part of the foster care system since she can remember. When she was 12, her mother terminated parental rights, leaving her and her brother as wards of the state. Their caseworker was very open with them - at their age, they would not likely be adopted. So they remained in foster care until they were 18.

And that's why Jessica has gotten involved in foster care herself - she has two biological children and, last Friday, she adopted six brothers, ages 4-18. Siblings are more than likely to be separated in the foster care system.

While a lot of people say that she saved the kids, she told today.com/parents that "they grounded me. I went through my 20s thinking I didn’t really need a family. But I did. They give me purpose.”
