A Foot of Hail in Michigan Makes Summer Look Like Winter [VIDEO]

You'd swear it was a cold winter day in August in Southwest Michigan yesterday. Nearly a foot of hail turned the ground white in Vicksburg, a small community in Kalamazoo County.

Several viewers posted pictures of the unusual occurrence on News 3's Facebook page. One noted that pile of hail in his yard measured close to 18 inches high.

A severe thunderstorm rolled through Southwest Michigan Wednesday (8/14), packing wind gusts that approached 60 miles per hour.
