9-Year-Old Skips Birthday Gifts, Asks For Donations to Shelter Dogs – The Good News [VIDEO]
Second day in a row that we've got a super-charitable, selfless third grader in The Good News!
Hannah Okel, from Waukesha, Wisconsin, has already decided that she wants to be a vet when she grows up. And, for the second year in a row, she's decided to skip gifts for her birthday and, instead, ask for donations to the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation.
The foundation offers to pay for emergency medical expenses of shelter dogs, as well as dogs who belong to families who can’t afford to pay their vet bills.
She cites her dog Scout, saying that if he were sick and her family wasn't able to pay for the vet bills, she would be sad.
