Michigan Man Finds And Rescues His Lost Dog Tangled In The Woods

A man from Michigan was walking his dog when it took off on him, knocked him over then ran off with his leash dangling behind as he disappeared. Devastated, the owner began his search for his lost companion.

I’ve had dogs that like to sneak off then take off and explore the quarter mile radius of our house. My sweet Izzie was a Treeing Coon Hound who I let out in our backyard when I immediately remembered that I left the side gate open. By the time I was able to close it she was gone, and our two-and-a-half-hour game of tag began.

This wasn’t Izzie’s first venture away from home to see her surroundings, and it certainly was not her last. But at the end of the day, whether I tried to chase her home or not, if I couldn’t corner her first, she would end up on the front porch when she got tired, hungry, or just bored.

But what happens if your dog runs off and ends up in a situation where it can’t get home? It could be abducted like Cooper in Grand Blanc, or end up stuck in the woods like a dog in Montrose.
