Michiganders are facing yet another recall. This time it's over concerns over metal found in a popular snack. Although there were no injuries, there were two separate complaints filed by consumers who found bits of metal in their beef and turkey sticks.

Chomps is the product under recall and is manufactured by Idaho Smokehouse Partners. It's sold at several retailers including Costco. According to the recall update issued yesterday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the recall affects 29,541 pounds of ready-to-eat beef stick products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal.

The Chomps website says that their goal is to keep customers safe which prompted the quick action by the company. While the initial recall was issued on March 20th, the update includes contact information for customers and the media.

If you have questions about this product recall consumers can log on to Chomps’ website at www.chomps.com/recall or call Idaho Smokehouse Partners at 208-227-5282. In addition the website offers a product checker where you can chat with the company to see if you have a product under recall.

The recall was originally for 1.15-oz vacuum-sealed packages of “Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild” and an expiration date of 02-10-2026. The affected lots shows an establishment number of “6220A” on the packaging and the original recall only included  the lot code 25016.
