It seems that for many years we have tied the younger generation to the ills of drug and alcohol addiction.

Recently there were  two new studies released that might make us re-think things.  The research suggests that the older generation is not immune to the challenges of addiction.

The first report that comes from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, found that it's figures nearly doubled since 2002 for the number of of adults over 50 who reported using illicit drugs.

The second study, from the Hanley Center, found that almost half of their study cases developed their substance abuse problem after the age of 48. Makes you wonder doesn't it?  The growth of pharmaceuticals is a growing challenge for the older group especially.
