With Stores Closed on Thanksgiving, What Are You Doing Instead?
Almost all stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, so many shopping traditions are not going to happen.
I will be the first to say that I am really bummed that so many stores will be closed on Thanksgiving. It is somewhat of an even split in my life though. Half my friends are happy about it and half of them are not. Shopping on Thanksgiving for my friends and me is so much more than just getting deals. It's a tradition that we all look forward to each year.
Every year, my friends and I have a routine that we go through preparing for holiday shopping. We make our lists and find the best deals and plan it all out. Our yearly tradition always starts at Target. We'll fuel up like gluttons at the Thanksgiving table, take a few minutes to relax, and then it is game time. Typically, we are within the first 20 people in line at Target and that almost always guarantees us the big-ticket items we are looking for.
Once the store opens, we all spring into action and get grab the items on our lists and make sure that we all get what we need. We are a well-oiled machine. After we conquer Target, we move on to a few other stores and snatch up the rest of the stuff we need, and BOOM, we are done shopping for the year. Honestly, the shopping on Thanksgiving isn't stressful at all and we have a blast. The bottom line is, at the risk of sounding cheesy, I get to spend quality time with family and friends and we always end with great memories of braving the frontlines of holiday shopping.
Now, with all that said and our tradition completely shutdown...what the f*** do we do now? I feel lost. What do normal, non-lunatic people do on Thanksgiving? Give me some suggestions because come Thanksgiving, my idle hands will probably end up getting me into trouble if I don't have something to do. Does anyone know if the casinos are open? End rant.
