Dozens of Free Thanksgiving Meals Available Across Mid-Michigan
Thanksgiving has always been about more than the food on the table. Across mid-Michigan, it is a season where neighbors look out for one another, and where generosity becomes as much a tradition as the turkey itself. This year, dozens of organizations, churches, and community leaders are stepping up to make sure every family has a warm meal and a place to feel cared for.
A Community That Shows Up
Things begin Friday, November 21, with a Turkey Giveaway at Financial Plus Credit Union in Saginaw, offering full meals on a first-come basis. Later that afternoon, Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village in Flint will host a drive-thru turkey event for families preparing for the holiday ahead.

Saturday brings a full slate of support, including frozen turkeys and hot meals at Kingdom Living Church in Flint, a large food giveaway at Bethel United Methodist Church, and a two-day, 500-turkey distribution through NTC Church in Burton in partnership with several Flint-area organizations.

On Sunday, Sugarbush Golf Club and The Captain’s Club in Grand Blanc Township will host their giveaway, followed by Flint’s annual Turkey Time Drop with hometown boxing champ Anthony Dirrell, who continues his tradition of giving back in honor of his late grandfather.

The giving continues throughout Thanksgiving week. Mott Community College’s Culinary Arts Institute and the Kyle Kuzma Family Foundation will provide carry-out meals on Monday, complete with free MTA transportation from two Flint locations. Community dinners, flu-shot clinics, toy giveaways, and hot meals continue across Flint, Saginaw, Fenton, Bay City, and Davison through Wednesday.
Thanksgiving Day Events
And on Thanksgiving Day, local restaurants, churches, food trucks, and community centers will open their doors, from Leo’s Coney Island in Clio to Berston Field House in Flint, making sure no one celebrates alone.
In a season built on gratitude, mid-Michigan once again shows its heart, reminding us that the best part of Thanksgiving is how we take care of each other.
