Another Year Without the Great Pumpkin on TV? How to Watch For Free

Seasonal spoiler alert. You won't find Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang in their quest for the Great Pumpkin on network TV this Halloween season. The timeless family classic which premiered in 1966, will be absent again this year.

Once again It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown the popular special that was a fixture for so many of us growing up will be gone from regular television. Families used to be to catch Halloween on PBS and PBS Kids annually. However, as of a few years ago, that is no longer the case The special disappeared in 2020 from network television after decades of being a fixture in living rooms everywhere, but it didn't disappear forever.

A few years ago the Charlie Brown gang found a new home at AppleTV+, and that's where you can still find it this year. The Halloween special is set to air in October for old fans and new fans to enjoy. Still, like many streaming services, Apple TV+ faced some backlash for holding one of the most treasured holiday specials basically hostage from the masses.

How Can I Watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown This Year?

Apple TV+ announced that the beloved holiday specials It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will air for free to non-subscribers for two special; days this season.  The airing gives families a fun weekend to enjoy with their favorite Peanuts Gang.

In addition, the streaming service announced the other Peanuts specials, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,  and the iconic A Charlie Brown Christmas will also be shown for all to enjoy with or without an AppleTV+ subscription.

When to Watch Your Favorite Peanuts Holiday Specials This Year

Here's the schedule for those holiday family favorites:

• It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown: October 19 through October 20
• A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving: November 23 through November 24
• A Charlie Brown Christmas: December 14 through 15
