Katy Butler, a Michigan teenager from Greenhills High School near Ann Arbor fought hard to get the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) to change the film's rating from R to PG-13.

After a rather heated battle, Weinstein Co., the documentary's creator, decided to release the film with no rating. Theaters will use their own discretion when deciding who is able to purchase tickets.

'Bully' opens this weekend in New York and Los Angeles, and April 13th in the top 25 movie markets in the US, before becoming widely accessible to the rest of the country. A spokesman for NCG Cinemas in Grand Blanc was unable to cite a specific date when 'Bully' would be shown here.
