Wahlburgers in Flint Township Set to Close
Well it’s a sad ending to something that was a very exciting beginning just 18 short months ago. Wahlburgers, located at Genesee Valley Center in Flint Township, will be closing their doors.
Wahlburgers announced the news on their Facebook page Wednesday. Although the eatery will be closing their Flint Township location, Wahlburgers did indicate in the post that this is not a final goodbye. The restaurant, owned by chef Paul Wahlberg and his brothers, actors Donnie Wahlberg and Mark Wahlberg. hinted that they are looking to reopen again somewhere else in the area.
Wahlburgers opened back in June 2019 in their 3,600-square-foot restaurant. At opening they employed about 80 full-time and part-time employees. The Grand Opening welcomed both actor Mark Walhberg and brother Chef Paul Wahlberg to town.
On their Facebook page Wahlburgers owners and management thanked their loyal customers for their support saying,
"We have loved being a part of this incredible community and we will miss serving you all at this location. But we're not saying good-bye! We're saying we'll see you soon as we are actively searching for another location in Flint that will allow us to serve this wonderful community that we've grown to love and appreciate!"
The Flint management staff also told us that as a way of saying "Thank you", on Thursday, December 24th, they will be having a Community Christmas Eve celebration that will last all day! They hope everyone will plan to come out and join them as they share their love and appreciation for the community.
There is no official closing date, but the post indicates it will be within the month. There are currently two other Michigan locations, Royal Oak and Detroit. The first Wahlburgers opened in Hingham, Massachusetts on November 15, 2014. Wahlburgers currently operates 29 locations in 19 states and Canada.
