Veteran Walking around Lake Michigan for Suicide Awareness – The Good News
As if it couldn't get any better, there's a rescued kitten in this story.
Marine veteran and West Michigan native Travis Snyder was in shock when one of his military brothers committed suicide, and he wanted to do something that would make an impact in lieu of it.
So, last month, he started walking about 25 miles per day around Lake Michigan. He'll wrap up his journey in Manistee on October 6th.
Just wait, it gets better.
On his way through South Haven, Travis found a rain-soaked kitten on the side of the road. He picked it up, dried it off and fed it...and has decided to keep it. The kitten's name is Gulliver (get it?) and will stay with a friend of his until he wraps up his walk. You can follow the rest of his journey on Facebook HERE.
Thank you Travis, for being such a great soul.
