It seems obvious to me that there is a connection between being unemployed and your health suffering.

New research now seems to state the obvious, that, unemployed Americans are reportedly less likely to practice good health habits than those who are employed full- or part-time.

Unemployed people displayed the  unhealthiest habits, scoring 59.1 on the index, followed by a score of 60.8 by those folks who are employed part-time but looking for full-time work.

The research looks at behaviors such as smoking, exercising and eating fruits and vegetables. In virtually every age demographics, unemployed people scored lower than any other age group in the study.

The stress of being out of work seems to be the key here with the unemployed suffering more depression.
