Two Flint Students Represent Pistons at NBA Math Hoops Championships – The Good News
Go Willie Smith and Khamarion Grear!
Smith, from Doyle-Ryder Elementary and Grear from Holmes STEM Academy, both represented the Detroit Pistons over the weekend at the NBA Math Hoops Championships.
Never heard of it? Me neither. According to their website, NBA Math Hoops is a fast-paced basketball board game, curriculum and community program that allows students to learn fundamental math skills through direct engagement with the real statistics of their favorite basketball players.
1,400 students from all over the country advanced the nationals, including Smith and Grear.
Congrats, boys! Thanks for representing Flint so well!
