This morning, a letter from Superintendent Tim Jalkanen was sent home to parents of students in the Fenton Area School district.  That letter prompted neighboring districts to issue a statement to parents of their students as well.

A Fenton student was on her way to school Friday morning when she was approached near the corner of South Adelaide Street and Hillview Terrace. A report indicates that the suspect is possibly male around 6-feet tall wearing dark clothing, a hoodie and a cloth mask. The stranger grabbed the student by the arm, she kicked the stranger, and ran to her bus stop. The unknown individual did not follow her and has not been seen since.

If you have any information about the incident, please contact the Fenton Police Department at (810) 629-5311. This is as good a time as any to talk to your kids about what to do when a stranger approaches.
