The post has been shared quite a bit already, unfortunately.

A Facebook post about an attempted child abduction at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills is going viral, and the local police are encouraging people NOT to share it...because it's not true.

The post was from Saturday, September 15th. It states that the user saw "two white guys" try to take a baby out of its mother's arms in the parking lot of the mall.

The only TRUE part of the story is that security and police showed up. It was actually a child custody dispute and NOT an attempted abduction.

Another prime example of why we shouldn't share things online until we KNOW that they're factually accurate. I know, that's hard to do, but this person saw something, made assumptions (we understand why, but still), and freaked everybody out.
