Today is National Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day.  Seriously.  It's celebrated every year on the last Monday in January.

There's no need to get me a gift -- but if you insist, some lovely bubble wrap would be perfect!

According to Al.com:

In its traditional form, bubble wrap was used as insulated wallpaper, but since then it has found its niche as a top material in the packaging industry.

According to Yahoo!, there is enough bubble wrap made each year to wrap around the earth ten times.  That's a lot of bubble wrap.  Pop until you drop.
