The owner of Cedar Point has said "no" to the proposed merger with Six Flags.

Michigan's Adventure will NOT become a Six Flags location...for now.

It was announced last week that Cedar Fair, the company who owns Cedar Point, Knott's Berry Farm, Michigan's Adventure and eight other theme parks was approached with a merger offer from the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.

For Michiganders who have never heard of them, Six Flags owns 25 amusement parks throughout the country including Great America in the Chicago suburbs and Six Flags Over Texas. As always, the idea was to "eliminate competition" and raise ticket prices. *eye roll*

The offer was rejected as being "too low." So that's NOT to say that they won't come through with more money but, for now, the answer is NO. Let's hope it stays that way, because these parks are too expensive as it is.
