The Ivy House Duffle Bag Drive

How would you like to help out children who are placed in foster care? On Saturday, you can drop off a duffle bag at the Ivy House from 8am to 6pm and all bags collected will be donated to the Department of Human Services and local foster care agencies.

This is all in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Zeta Beta Omega Chapter and the Genesee County Department of Human Services. The idea is to collect the bags to give to the kids who otherwise may not have a bag to take with them when they do go in foster care.

When you donate, you'll help a child transition between homes and help make it a little easier for them. They're accepting duffle bags, backpacks, small rolling suitcase and monetary donations if you don't have time to shop. There will also be food and giveaways all day on Saturday.
