Wounded Warriors Family Support, an Omaha-based organization, is providing local businesses with the signs for their parking lots.
"They need to be remembered and honored for their sacrifice in service to our country," Col. John Folsom, president of Wounded Warriors Family Support, told The Huffington Post. "I see it as part of a healing of the spirit for our combat-wounded veterans."
The initiative has spread outside of Nebraska, with signs popping up in South Carolina and New Jersey. The organization has made over 2,000 signs to date. To apply for one, you can sign up online, and pay the shipping. Obviously, the signs are not "official," but instead rely on the honor system.
