George McIntyre said it on the air today before my shift started.  "The Crim is like Christmas for Stu Allen."  That's probably true for a whole bunch of other runners and walkers from around Flint.  We get pretty pumped up for this day every year.

If you plan to participate, you have only Thursday and Friday to register at the Crim Race Expo.  Online registration is closed, but you can sign up in person tomorrow and Friday.  There will be no race day registration.

The Crim Race Expo will take place Thursday from 2-8 pm and from 11-9 on Friday at the Riverfront Conference Center at Saginaw and Water Streets in downtown Flint.  You can still pick up your race number on Saturday if you are pre-registered.  The Expo will be open Saturday from 6:30 to 11.

Don't miss the fun Friday night on the Festival lot (Flat lot).  Carbo load at the Shelter of Flint Pasta Party from 4-8 pm.  $10 for all the pasta you can eat (Italia Gardens provides the food, it's fabulous!).  Stick around for 80's night with music from Rockstar and the Square Pegs.  There will be breakdancers, cars from the 80's and lots of other fun stuff for the whole family.

Saturday morning is the running part.  10-mile Wheelers go off at 7:30, the first wave of 10-mile runners at 8:00 am, the next wave a couple of minutes later until all the runners and walkers are moving down the course.  The wave start should ease some congestion in the first couple of miles.

There are also 8k, 5k and 1-mile races, so there is a distance you can do, whether you've been training or not.

New this year, technical moisture wicking shirts for 10-mile, 8k and 5k participants.  Medals in all distances (first 1000 in the Michigan Mile).

Complete details can be found at www.crim.org

Better yet, come on downtown tomorrow and Friday and get your information firsthand.  Sign up for a race while you're at it!

I hope to see you on the bricks Saturday morning for the 36th running of the Crim!
