Growing up in Flint wasn’t easy for Terry Crews, who shares a personal and painful memory from his childhood, growing up with an extremely religious and controlling mother.

Who is Terry Crews?

Crews is a Flint native, former NFL player, and actor. After graduating from Flint Southwestern Academy, he attended Western Michigan University. His NFL career included stints as a defensive end and linebacker with the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers, and the Washington Redskins.

His TV credits include 'Everybody Hates Chris' and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' and he has served as host of 'America's Got Talent' and 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire.'

Crews has been an advocate for women's rights and has publicly documented some of the abuse his mother endured at the hands of his alcoholic father. He was named one of Time Magazine's Person of the Year by Time Magazine in 2017, after sharing stories of sexual abuse.

Terry Crews:  "She Made Me Pull My Pants Down"

Although the Flint native has found success in TV, movies, and football, he recently pulled back the curtain on a humiliating moment from his childhood.

In the video below from Ely Insane, Crews reveals that his mother was often controlling, describing her behavior as a form of ownership over her children.

He recalls an incident during adolescence when his mother asked if he had “hair down there,” referring to his pubic area. She insisted that he pull his pants down so she could inspect him.

Terry Crews Shares Story of Extreme Humiliation

Can you imagine the humiliation he must have felt?

In my early teens, my mother simply asked if I had hair under my arms. I was mortified by the question and can’t fathom the embarrassment he must have experienced. (To be honest, I had just entered the phase of my life that required deodorant, and I probably smelled like hell.)

Take a Peek Inside Eminem's Oakland County Mansion

At one time, this mansion was known as the Kmart Mansion because it was owned by the CEO of Kmart before it was purchased by Eminem in 2003. The rapper lived in this house in Oakland County as recently as 2017 and has since purchased another beautiful home in Clinton Township.

The furniture inside the 17,500 sq. foot crib isn't Eminem's, but the outside pictures are reported to be older photos, so yes, we are led to believe the cars did belong to Mr. Mathers.
