Eight Percent of Parents Regret Their Child’s Name — Survey of the Day
Naming a child is usually the first big decision a new parent makes, and one that almost one and ten would like to do be able to do again.
A new survey by Your Domain Name has found that eight percent of all parents admit to baby naming remorse, which is up from the three percent of those in a 2007 poll who reported regretting the name they gave their child.
While the majority of the regretful parents in the Your Domain Name poll say their mistake was giving their child a name that was too trendy or fashionable, 32 percent said the problem was that the name they decided on ended up being more common than they thought it was.
