At the peak of Holiday shopping, one store inside Genesee Valley Center had to close for a few hours because of a false threat.

According to reports from Mlive, on Tuesday afternoon, Macy's had to shut down because there was a threatening phone call received by one of the employees. The call came in around 12 p.m. and authorities decided to close the store for about three hours.

Search units and K-9 units from Genesee County Sheriff's Office, Oakland County Sheriff's Office, Lapeer County Sheriff's Office, and City of Flint Police Department were used to ensure nothing suspicious was going on. After the extensive search, nothing was found, and the store is back open for business.
