Spring in Mid-Michigan, an Ice Storm [PHOTOS]
Isn't spring beautiful in Mid-Michigan? Freezing rain and ice covering everything in sight. We are 26 days into spring, and I thought we would be out of the frozen season by now. It was in the 60s this week, then in true Michigan weather form, we get slammed with a weekend ice storm.
Luckily, at least at this point, this ice storm isn't as damaging as the Christmas ice storm of 2013. I remember waking up that December day to the sound of frozen tree branches breaking off all around me. We were without power for five days, and it was cold.
So, yes an April ice storm isn't ideal. Baseball has started, track has started, we are all thinking about spring. The good news is at this point, there are no major power outages, and according to Weather Underground, it will be over soon. The better news is that by next weekend we are looking at temperatures near 60 again.
