New App Let’s You Rent Space For Your Dogs To Play
First, there were Airbnbs. Then Swimply came along allowing us to rent swimming pools for a day. There are even services such as Getaround that allow you to rent someone's personal car or even rent out your own. Easy access to things we need in Michigan, but may not have is trending, and now it's gone to the dogs... literally.
In keeping with the "what's mine, is yours" vibe the country is embracing Sniffspot. Sniffspot allows people to rent out their backyards and other pet-friendly spaces to dog owners looking for a private dog park.
The whole concept revolves around local hosts renting their yards and private land to dog owners. Renters can search for those amenities and experiences that best fit their dog from fencing design a ground cover to special extras such as pools, lakes, and rivers.
Some hosts have implemented full agility courses to train your dogs in a private environment or offer large pastures and fields to let your city dog run free in the country. You also have the option of joining a small group if doing a private Sniffspot isn't your thing.
"We are a safe alternative to what's already out there, which is walking your dog on a leash or going to a dog park," said David Adams, the founder and CEO of Sniffspot told a CBS News affiliate.
Hosts also "cash" in on the fun. If you are lucky enough to have the perfect place for pooches to enjoy themselves you can make some extra money for basically doing nothing.
Most Sniffspot rentals cost between $9 to $15 per dog per hour hosts can make themselves hundreds of dollars a month depending on how many guests they have. The whole idea is catching on quickly across Michigan with Sniffspots in Grand Blanc, Flint, Clarkston, and more.
