Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore has announced the day of it's seasonal opening of several park facilities including campgrounds. Park officials have announced the delay will be until July 1st. The decision has been made to remain in guidance with CDC guidance regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

Those areas included in the delayed opening are, all park campgrounds,, Blacksmith Shop and D.H. Day Exhibit, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, Glen Haven’s Cannery Boat Museum the Sleeping Bear Point U.S. Lifesaving Service Station.

Officials have indicated the visitor center, Dune Climb, restrooms, trails and picnic areas, area scheduled to open sooner than the July date  if "if public health guidance allows."

Campground reservations between May 1, 2020 and June 21, 2020, have already received an email with information on refunds.
