Picturesque Michigan Highway Named Most Scenic In America
Across the country, roads are so magnificent that they beckon to be driven, offering experiences beyond mere travel. From the coastal highways of California to the mountain passes of Colorado, and shorelines of the East Coast, these scenic drives encapsulate the essence of adventure and discovery.
Giving us the ultimate road map guide to the most amazing roads in America, Yardbarker compiled a list of the 15 best scenic drives in the United States. "There's nothing better than a road trip — except a road trip in one of the country's most beautiful locales", they wrote. The selection is 15 of the country's most beautiful scenic drives, and one is right here in Michigan.
For Michiganders, consider this a "if you know, you know" selection. Michigan's M-22 found itself, and rightfully so, on the must-drive list according to Yardbaker.
While we wholeheartedly agree the M-22 should be on the list, we aren't completely on board with the "may not be as popular" comment, but we can let it slide. What other scenic road can you stand on the 45th parallel, not once, but twice? Or take you
"Though it may not be as popular as some of the other scenic drives on this list, M-22 in upstate Michigan is a real stunner. In the fall, you can catch gorgeous foliage, and in the summer, score gorgeous lake views along this 112-mile stretch", Yardbarker said.
While we completely agree that M-22 belongs on the list, we wholeheartedly aren't completely on board with the "may not be as popular" comment, but we can let it slide. After all, where else can claim the 45th parallel, not once, but twice? Or wind your way to the picturesque Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes?
If you've yet to experience a road trip along M-22, it's time to pack your bags, fill up the tank, and hit the road for an adventure you’ll never forget. Trust us, M-22 is calling your name!
