And the designs are inspired by local elementary school students.

Last Thursday evening, students at Durant-Tuuri-Mott Elementary School were asked to design their "dream playgrounds." And those ideas will be used by the United Way of Genesee County as inspiration for six new playgrounds throughout Flint.

The playgrounds will be located at Dewey, Farnumwood, Cook, Eldorado Vista, Whaley and Clara Hilborn parks. The project will cost about $400,000, of which $330,000 comes from a grant from the Flint Kids Fund of the Foundation for Flint. Say that one three times fast! ;)

The playgrounds will be constructed in July and August. Another positive step for Flint!
